bird is the word

Everybody's heard...

I am an honorably discharged, disabled veteran, community volunteer, and student doctor at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  After I complete my degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) and my residency program my wife (also a student doctor) and I are planning to settle in rural Colorado to meet the needs of underserved, rural communities.  I've recently refocused my attention on broader, primary care rather than specializing in pediatrics so that I can better serve the needs of all those I can reach.  That said, my heart is still devoted to working on the  front lines of health care policy as an advocate for children.

In the meantime, my mission is to reach out to children in need and provide them the tools and environment to develop physically, socially, and emotionally.  I believe that children are our only chance at a brighter future and they deserve our attention, protection, resources, energy, and most of all, our hearts.  I have spent two summers in Xi'an, China volunteering at Xin Xin (Heart to Heart) Special Needs Kindergarten.  Last year, I completed two very successful journeys to Pamplona-Alta in Lima, Peru and Ayaviri and Macusani in Puno, Peru as an assistant to physicians.  Please visit the rest of the site to learn more about how to get involved and help!
